Bob is a full time professor at Stephen F. Austin State University and has been fishing competitive tournaments in Texas since 1972. He has been a pro-staff member of Ranger Boats and trailers and Evinrude motors for the past 11 years. Other current sponsors are Terry's Marine, Minn-kota trolling motors, Lowrance Electronics, Shimano Reels and Rods, WANKERS Custom Lures, Izorline, Rapala lures and Stanly jigs.

He competes in tournaments primarily in the East Texas area and has fished over 700 money tournaments placing in over 480 and has won over 90. Some major tournaments wins and high finishes have included: Bass Champs, Bass n Bucks, Anglers Choice pro-draw and team, Lone Star pro-draw, Southern Bass pro-draw, Specialty Bass, Sealy's Team and Big Bass, All Star Bass and several local invitation tournaments. He finished 3rd in the 2001 Cowboy Division of the BFL, placed 4th at the Red River Regional and competed in the 2002 All-American Tournament on Cross Lake. He has won two boats in individual tournaments and 4 in partner tournments.

Tournaments currently fished are: Bass n Bucks, Bass Champs, Media, BFL, BASS Weekend Series, Stren, in addition to local open and charity tournaments.

Bob has also served as a member of the advisor board for the Stephen F. Austin State University Student Bass Club for over 20 year. He assisted in getting the SFA-Bass Club started and has been guest lecturer in angling classes offered at SFA.
